Dr. Lorente Joins Sine Dolore Network
Dr. Marian Lorente, the director of the UIC's Surgical and Functional Anatomy Lab, has joined Sine Dolore, a research network made up of renowned professionals who share the objective of improving pain treatment.
In October, Dr. Lorente took part in the 2nd Meeting of the European Multidisciplinary Network in Pain Research and Education (EMNIPRE), where she gave a talk on key aspects of pain research.
In this way, she also became a member of EMNIPRE, which is an initiative of the Sine Dolore network of renowned professionals who share the objective of improving pain treatment.
The aims of the Sine Dolore network include a specific commitment to pool resources in order to find solutions and provide scientific support to the professionals involved in treating pain, as well as assisting patients and their relatives.
The UIC and Dr. Lorente’s Surgical and Functional Anatomy Lab have been working in the field of pain treatment for some time. Their research efforts include a study of the peripheral nerves, with a view to furthering the use of radiofrequencies and neurostimulators.
