Dr Luis Jané, a Professor from the Faculty of Dentistry at UIC Barcelona and Director of the University Master’s Degree in Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry, has published his first novel, “Al caer el sol”. The novel, which takes place in Spain and also in Cuba, takes a look at historical events such as the Spanish Civil War and the post-war period as well the rise of Fidel Castro in Cuba through the life story of María Mullor. The protagonist tells the story in first person, at the end of her life, a life full of events and characters. The novel begins with her flight from Cuba and the abduction of her recently born child in Barcelona.
