Dr. Nubiola Advises Education Students on Writing Well

Dr. Jaime Nubiola gave a master class to students from the Written Communication course, which is taught by Mapi Ballesteros and Esther Tallada. Dr. Nubiola is a professor of Philosophy at the Universidad de Navarra.

During his talk, Dr. Nubiola gave a series of recommendations on how to write well. “The important thing is having something to say” and “You must discover your own voice” were two of the points he underlined before going on to discuss the keys to achieving a rich intellectual life. “Think, read and write!” he urged.

Dr. Nubiola also spoke of the need to write, an act he defined as “getting your thoughts down on paper. To do this, you need time, tenacity, inner vitality and to be at peace mentally.”

The talk ended with a question-and-answer session for the students, who were also given the opportunity to talk about their own experiences with written communication and ask for advice. The master class took place over two days, on Monday and Tuesday, 2-3 December 2013; the first session was attended by students from the Preschool Education programme, and the second by their counterparts from the Primary School Education programme.
