Dr Josep Serrano was recently selected as new director of the journal Revista de Dret Històric Català, an appointment made effective by the Board of Governors of the Catalan Society for Legal Studies in the session on 4 July. 

According to Dr Serrano, the purpose of this journal is to promote the study and knowledge of law and historical public and private institutions from Catalonia, as well as their connection to those from territories corresponding to the Crown of Aragon, Spain and Europe, during the period from their inception to the 20th century, with the history of law covering the period up to the transition of 1978.

“The journal has a B ranking from the Government of Catalonia, which recognises its high quality. It is the only one of its kind in Catalonia”, indicates the UIC Barcelona lecturer, whose now has the task of coordinating the journal and achieving the highest possible A rating. 

The 17th edition of the journal, the first directed by Professor Serrano, is due for release in September.
