Dr Vidal explains in a book chapter that, according to neuroscience, learning involving an emotional component is better remembered

These neuroscience findings are applied in the UIC Barcelona bachelor’s degree programme in Primary Education

The paper Neurociencia aplicada a la didáctica de las matemáticas y ODS (Neuroscience applied to mathematics and SDG teaching), by the vice-dean of the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Education, Salvador Vidal, has been included in the book La educación en tiempos de cambios(Education in Times of Change), published by Global Knowledge Academics.

In the chapter, Professor Vidal asserts that, according to neuroscience, our brains retain learning that involves an emotional component better. In this regard, he notes that a good mood leaves a deeper mark on our brain and is a source of inspiration for creativity. He also points to the benefits of starting a class by posing a challenge for students.

Professor Vidal further explains how neuroscience findings are gradually being applied to mathematics teaching and learning in the Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education offered by the university’s Faculty of Education.
