Elisa Omedes Explains Techniques for Radio Texts to Journalism Students

On Friday, 13 January 2012, Francesc Cano, a professor in the Faculty of Communication Sciences, invited Elisa Omedes, a writer at Catalunya Ràdio and the author of the book Les notícies a la ràdio (The News on the Radio), to teach a class for fourth-year Journalism students about how to write good texts for the radio.

The Catalunya Ràdio writer
spoke about the basics of writing texts for the radio within the framework of
the subject Radio Production and Direction. The aim of the lecture was to have
an expert show students the best techniques for writing radio texts.

The guest speaker explained the basics
of writing texts and highlighted the importance of mastering narrative
technique, based on the principles of expressing ideas briefly, naturally and
concisely.

These sessions with guest lecturers at
the UIC help students gain a broader, more practical vision of the profession
and give them direct contact with the job market.
