The ESARQ - School of Architecture successfully hosts the 3rd International Conference of Biodigital Architecture & Genetics
From 7-9 June, the ESARQ - School of Architecture at UIC Barcelona hosted the third edition of the International Conference of Biodigital Architecture & Genetics.
The congress, curated by Dr Alberto T. Estévez, vice-rector/general manager of the University and professor in the ESARQ - School of Architecture, gathered together more than fifty specialists at the international forefront of architecture from over 20 countries. The conference also included the presentation of 40 papers and invited lectures from all over the world.
Over the course of the event, discussion hinged on the latest advances and theories regarding the application of new biological and digital techniques in architecture and design, issues currently at the forefront of architecture.
The 3rd International Conference of Biodigital Architecture & Genetics is an event organised every three years. This year it coincided with the 20th anniversary of the ESARQ - School of Architecture at UIC Barcelona. The conference was organised as part of the University Master’s Degree in Biodigital Architecture, the first programme of its kind to approach architecture from a biological and digital perspective, and which is directed by the vice-rector/general manager of the University, Alberto T. Estévez.
