Everything set for the ECU-FCT 2017 Catalan University Tennis Championships

This year’s University Tennis Championships will take place at the Vall d'Hebron Municipal Tennis Centre from 27 to 30 March. This tournament will earn participants points in the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) rankings and will help establish a Catalan University Tennis ranking for individuals and universities.

These championships, organised by the ECU (Esport Català Universitari), are part of Catalan University Tennis' promotional programme and aim to raise the game's profile among Catalonia's university body.

The ECU is an umbrella association for all Catalan universities and the vehicle through which the universities coordinate the Catalan University Championships. The premise of these events is to promote sport among the members of the various Catalan universities (students, teaching and research staff and administration and service staff). Emphasis is also placed on promoting the participants' values and sporting spirit, not to mention the implication of the entities and bodies involved in university sport.

For the first time ever, the players who take part and perform well in the Catalan University Tennis Championships will have the chance to represent Catalonia at the EUSA Games in Madrid.
