Faculty of Dentistry Attends Greater New York Dental Meeting

From Sunday to Wednesday, 1-4 December 2013, the UIC's Faculty of Dentistry had a stand at the Greater New York Dental Meeting. It was the second time the Faculty has attended the event, which this year celebrated its 89th edition.

The Faculty of Dentistry’s stand was located in the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and was manned by Faculty Dean Dr. Lluís Giner and Joan Vidal, the manager of both the Faculty and the University Dental Clinic (CUO).

The Greater New York Dental Meeting (GNYDM) is the largest healthcare and dental event in the United States and the third-largest dental event in the world. It attracts over 53,000 visitors from all 50 states and 130 different countries.

The event provided the Faculty with an opportunity to strengthen its links with New York University, with which it has begun to collaborate on a Master’s Degree programme in integrated and restorative dentistry. The two-year programme allows UIC students to go on a year-long exchange at New York University, and for the students of that university to attend the UIC.
