Faculty of Education Signs Agreement with School Sports Council of Barcelona
On Monday, 29 September 2014, the UIC Faculty of Education and the School Sports Council of Barcelona (CEEB) signed an agreement that will enable students in the Physical Education specialization programme to attend classes at the CEEB facilities.
Thanks to this agreement, the students that choose to take the specialization programme in Physical Education at the UIC will be able to use the facilities managed by the CEEB. These top-quality facilities are equipped for playing all kinds of school sports. There is a sports pavilion, official-size outdoor playing fields, a track and field area, large rooms for group activities, badminton courts and everything required to play school sports. These facilities are located at the Mar Bella Municipal Sports Complex.
The location of the facilities makes it possible for students to enjoy the city's natural resources and participate in sports activities on the beach. Another advantage of the facilities is that the complex is adjacent to a running circuit.
Sergi Font, the Director of the specialization programme, said, "This cooperation agreement is a big step forward in terms of content and quality".
In fact, both the UIC and the CEEB are concerned about improving school education and this has made it possible for students from the UIC to participate in projects to make improvements in the underprivileged areas of Barcelona through school sports. The possibility of working together on international research studies coordinated by the CEEB is also being discussed.
