The Faculty of Humanities holds a meeting with Boston University to set up two double degrees in cultural management
The Dean of the Faculty, Judith Urbano, the Director of the University Master's Degree in Cultural Management, Marta Crispí, and Neus Codina, the Director of the International Relations Department at Metropolitan College in Boston University held a meeting on 1 March. The purpose of the meeting was to work on an agreement to set up two double degrees in cultural management.
Dr Jaume Armengou, the Vice-Rector for Academic Organisation and International Relations was also present at the meeting, as well as Isabel Pera, the Director of International Relations at UIC Barcelona.
The proposal that is being worked on and that will be signed in the near future is a double one. On the one hand there is a proposal for a double degree programme: UIC Barcelona University Master's Degree in Cultural Management to be taught alongside Boston University’s Master of Science in Arts Administration. In this case, depending on the optional subjects students take as part of their Master’s degree at Boston University they may be also be able to obtain a Postgraduate degree in Fundraising (Graduate Certificate in Fundraising Management).
On the other hand, there is also the opportunity to obtain a double master’s and postgraduate degree in Arts Management called a Graduate Certificate in Arts Management. In both cases, students will take the master’s or postgraduate course in Boston. Through this new proposal, courses in cultural management at UIC Barcelona will increase and the international nature of the University Master's Degree in Cultural Management will be reinforced. Boston University is ranked at number 40 in the university rankings for the USA.
As well attending the meeting about this agreement, Neus Codina also held meetings about international mobility in the various faculties at UIC Barcelona.
