Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences Holds 7th University-Business Career Day
On Monday and Tuesday, 15 and 16 April 2013, the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences held its 7th University-Business Career Day. Representatives from hospitals and medical centres offered final-year students a glimpse into the job market of the health field.
In this edition, representatives were on hand from the following centres: Hospital Sociosanitari Pere Virgili, CAPIO Hospitals, Centre Mèdic Teknon, the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa, the Mútua de Terrassa, Atenció Primària de Salut (ICS), the Institut Català d’Oncologia, the Hospital de Granollers, the Fundació Parc Taulí and the Fundació Hospital Clínic de Barcelona.
The event included the lecture "Research and Innovation: Future Values for the Health Field" given by Dr. Lluís Blanch, the Director of Research and Innovation at Corporació Sanitària Parc Taulí and the Director of the Institut Universitari Fundació Parc Taulí at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, which took place on Tuesday, 16 April 2013.
During the lecture, Blanch talked about the need for change and innovation in a society in the midst of an economic crisis and the importance of multidisciplinary work as the key to success. In reference to innovation, Blanch also stressed to students the importance of channelling innovative ideas through research and making the most of the resources offered by institutions to achieve quality results.
The University-Business Career Day is an annual event designed to put final-year students in touch with the job market they will soon form a part of. This was the seventh edition of the event organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, but the first to also include students from the Bachelor's degree programme in Nursing.
