Felipe Pich-Aguilera, the Director of the School of Architecture’s CEIM Chair and a professor who teaches the Sustainability and Projects subjects, was responsible for coordinating the sustainability area of the latest edition of the Construmat fair (now known as Beyond Building Barcelona), along with the rest of the team at Pich Architects. The fair was held in Barcelona from Tuesday to Saturday, 19-23 May 2015.
This 19th edition of the fair focused on design, innovation and sustainability and aimed to promote actions to encourage sustainable and environmentally friendly construction. The key themes of the sustainability area of Beyond Building Barcelona were minimizing the environmental impact of construction and reducing the energy consumption of buildings.
This edition included the presentation of actions and initiatives that have been undertaken at local, national and international level, and discussion concerning decrees, laws and policies relating to sustainability.
Beyond Building Barcelona is an event that brings professionals, students and construction companies together every two years to raise awareness about new processes, materials and services and the latest technological innovations.
