Final Degree Projects in Architecture on Display at Art Museum of Catalonia

The UIC's ESARQ School of Architecture has inaugurated an exhibition in the Oval Hall of the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) on the metropolitan region of Montcada-Besòs based on the final degree projects of students in Architecture. The theme of the 31 projects on display is the transformation of the Montcada i Reixac area in metropolitan Barcelona.

The projects were supervised by architects and lecturers Alberto Estévez, Miquel Lacasta and Juan Trias de Bes, along with the lecturers in technical areas, thanks to the cooperation of different technical experts from the public administration.

Montcada i Reixac now boasts a strategic location. The fact that it is an obligatory stopping point is a good reason to recover an area that has been pigeonholed as one of the backyards of the city of Barcelona. Now is the time for it to regain its identity based on its geographic location.

The exhibition "Interactive Geographies: Productive Landscapes in the Metropolitan Area" will open on Tuesday, 22 July 2014, at 7 p.m. with a roundtable discussion and the participation of architects Joan Roig, Daniel Mòdol, Miguel Roldán and Rosa Rull.

The exhibition will be open in the Oval Hall of the MNAC until Tuesday, 29 July 2014.
