Former Business Administration student Luis Mas is composer of the soundtrack to the film "El cielo no puede esperar"
Over 400 people attended the preview of the new film by journalist and film director José Maria Zavala, the documentary El cielo no puede esperar (Heaven Can’t Wait), about Carlo Acutis, a 15-year-old boy beatified in 2020. The session was attended by members of the production team, Antonia Salzano, Carlo’s mother, and Luis Mas, former Business Administration student at UIC Barcelona and composer of the soundtrack.
The preview of El cielo no que esperar, supported by the Vice-rectorate for University Community of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, took place last Thursday in the Gran Sarrià Multicinemas in Barcelona.
The story of this film began when José María Zavala, director and screenwriter, heard about the life of Carlo Acutis on 10 October 2020, the day that the 15-year-old boy was beatified. In fact, it was a life that “influenced many people” explained his mother Antonia Salzano in the post-screening talk.
Among the production team that was present at the session was the former student of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, Luis Mas, composer of the film’s soundtrack. Mas has been concentrating on his musiscal career for some time now, and was “delighted” to work for the cinema, although, as he said, “I had never imagined dedicating myself to this medium”.
In fact, the Business Administration alumnus explained that he is currently working on a project for a new TV series and another film. Previously, Luis Mas had already created the soundtrack of another movie, the musical Tengamos la fiesta en paz (Let's Have the Party in Peace). “Right now, it looks like I have a very interesting career ahead of me” he said.
After the talk with Carlo Acutis’ mother, the screening ended with a surprise; Luis Mas himself sang the theme song of the film El cielo no puede esperar live for a delighted audience that had enjoyed the whole experience.
