Former Dentistry Student Wins Proclínic Excellence Award
On Thursday, 31 October 2013, the Conference of Dentistry Deans was held at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Dr. Lluís Giner, the Dean of the UIC Faculty of Dentistry, and Imma Puga, the Faculty's Academic Director, attended the event. The Proclínic Excellence Awards were handed out during the event. Former UIC student Borja Baldrich, who graduated on 25 July 2013, won first prize.
In collaboration with the Conference of Dentistry Deans, the company Proclínic sponsors these awards that recognize the best academic record in each dentistry faculty in Spain.
Achieving this recognition increases candidates’ chances of obtaining a Proclínic grant (the first-place grant is for €20,000 and the second is for €15,000), the objective of which is to encourage alumni to continue with postgraduate training.
The grants help former students continue their education and specialize in the area of dentistry they are most interested in. The awards also encourage alumni to publish their work and raise awareness about their research in the application of new dentistry techniques and practices. This training can be done anywhere in the world.
