IESF Launches New Magazine 'Family Insight'
The Institute of Advanced Family Studies (IESF) has published Family Insight, a new quarterly magazine. The new publication is designed to act as a vehicle for publicizing the Institute's studies on family-related issues and to forge links with its alumni.
During the presentation of the new magazine, IESF Director Montserrat Gas said that it hopes to offer “a view of the family from the inside with an insightful yet up-to-date focus on the major topics that affect families today”.
The magazine’s content will encompass family-related news, trends and reflections, tools for parents and educators, interviews with alumni and a diary of the activities of the Institute and the sector as a whole.
The first edition of Family Insight includes a reflective article by Dr Belén Zárate, the UIC’s Vice Rector for the University Community, titled “Family and the Ethics of Care”. It also features an interview with Gloria Gratacós, the Director of Education at Centro Universitario Villanueva and an alumna of the Marriage and Family Education (MEF) programme, along with an article by Dr Ignasi de Bofarull on the IESF’s current research topics and a special piece by IESF Assistant Director Javier Vidal-Quadras on family-related trends today.
