Current experience of family situations indicates that there is a growing need to promote a variety of initiatives in the field of family support. In view of this realisation, and coinciding with the Year of the Family, UIC Barcelona gave the First International Workshop on Family Support on Saturday 5 June through the Institute for Advanced Family Studies (IESF).

This first preparatory event, to be followed by another two in November and February, was attended by 500 participants from over 55 countries.

Next May's Workshop will involve didactic conferences, round-table discussions and workshops given by specialists and professionals from fields such as consultancy, family counselling, education, mediation, psychology, psychiatry. 

A part of the participating public can get involved by sharing their views and exchanging their experiences at the workshops.
