Jaume Munill Aroztegui, physiotherapist and coordinator of FC Barcelona First Team, keynote speaker at the Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy graduation

The sports physiotherapist shared words of encouragement on entering the job market with students and new colleagues

On 17 June, a new class with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physiotherapy graduated from UIC Barcelona at the Aula Magna, accompanied by family, friends and teachers. Mr. Jaume Munill Aroztegui, physiotherapist and coordinator of the FC Barcelona First Team was patron for the ceremony.

Munill Aroztegui began his keynote speech by welcoming the new colleagues. The FC Barcelona physiotherapist shared how the visibility of the profession has increased in recent years by increasing recognition of physiotherapists, who are no longer just masseurs, but professionals who work together with their patients under the premise “what can I do to help you?”

Munill Aroztegui encouraged the recent graduates to “demonstrate your value and continue training in those areas of physiotherapy that pique your interest. You can help patients better that way.” He also reminded them that “presence, attention and intention are the keys to the good practice of the physiotherapist”.

After the keynote speech, Alumni Board Director Jose Ignacio Parellada welcomed the new members to the Alumni community. Dr Albert Pérez, Department of Physiotherapy lecturer, addressed the graduates with moving words, congratulating “this graduating class who has turned out to be great professionals, but even better people”.

After the awarding of diplomas and the placing of sashes on all graduates, the class representatives addressed their colleagues in Spanish and French, recalling the moments shared during their degree studies, and also thanked teachers and family members for the support they received over these four years.

The ceremony ended with a speech by Dr Daniel Romero, Director of the Department of Physiotherapy, followed by the traditional singing of Gaudeamus Igitur.
