Javier Junceda Receives Prize from Centre for Financial Studies

Javier Junceda, a lawyer and the dean of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences, has been awarded a prize by the Centre for Financial Studies for his study titled "The enforcement of monetary judgements in litigious proceedings and budgetary stability legislation".

Junceda explained
that the study examines the problems that may be encountered by different
public administrations when paying compensation as a result of an unfavourable
court decision, since such expenses are not provided for in annual budgets and
paying them contravenes the Budgetary Stability Law. Junceda said, “The best idea would be for administrations to
take out insurance that would protect them in these situations”. The dean will
receive the prize in September.

The jury was chaired by José María Michavila,
the former Minister of Justice.
