José Augusto García Navarro has been named as the new president of the Scientific-Professional Welfare State Alliance
The lecturer from the Master's Degree in Healthcare Management at UIC Barcelona is also currently the general director of the Health and Social Consortium of Catalonia
José Augusto García Navarro, a member of teaching staff on the Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management, taught at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, has been appointed president of the Scientific-Professional Welfare State Alliance (ACEB). The lecturer has been selected due to his extensive experience and great prestige in the healthcare field, and adds the new position to that of director general of the Health and Social Consortium of Catalonia (CSC), which he currently holds. A pre-EHEA undergraduate degree holder in medicine and a geriatrics specialist, he is also president of the Spanish Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SEGG).
The aim of the ACEB is to improve the welfare state and its sustainability, while strengthening the social dialogue between citizens and political parties and always underpinning the cornerstones of the welfare state: health, social services, education and pensions.
