The official presentation was held on Friday, 27 June 2014, at the closing ceremony of the master's and postgraduate degree programmes for the 2013-2014 academic year, where Vives said, "This position is a real challenge and I accept it with great enthusiasm".

Vives is an attorney and a journalist. He has worked for more than 20 years as a sports journalist at a total of 14 different outlets, including Catalunya Radio. He currently contributes to the radio programme La nit a RAC1, the BTV television programme La Rambla, and different print media outlets.
