The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Dr Judith Urbano took part in the conference organised by UIC Barcelona's Institute of Biodigital Architecture and Genetics (IBAG).

Her paper, prepared jointly with Dr Alberto T. Estévez from UIC Barcelona School of Architecture, was entitled “The surrealist metamorphosis, prophecy of genetic architectures.” She discussed paintings from different eras by artists who can be understood as precursors to biodigital and genetic architecture such as Hyeronimus Bosch or the Surrealists Yves Tanguy and Max Ernst.

The conference was originally designed as a face-to-face event, but was carried out online, and featured a total of 36 presentations from 60 international researchers.
