The Rector of UIC Barcelona, Xavier Gil, and Fernando García Ferrer, the partner responsible for Markets and Private Equity, and Segor Teclesmayer, the partner responsible for HR, both from KPMG Spain, recently signed a cooperation framework agreement. The new agreement will come into force once the first edition of our new Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Private Equity begins.
Based on this agreement, KPMG Spain will provide two grants for the new master’s course that will start in October. Also, various professionals from KPMG will form part of the teaching body for the master’s degree, particularly in the case of the venture capital and private equity subjects.
This agreement signifies the start of cooperation which may open the door to other types of joint activities in the future, such as organising seminars, events, or other training courses within the business sector.
In the words of the Rector of UIC Barcelona, Xavier Gil, “this agreement ratifies UIC Barcelona’s commitment to remain connected to society and companies and provide students with a highly practical outlook which reflects the reality students will encounter when they leave the classroom”.
On the other hand, Fernando García, Head of Markets and Private Equity at KPMG, stated that “this agreement underlines the commitment of KPMG to universities, but, above all, to all students who are on the point of entering the labour market”.
Within the current macroeconomic context, due to the lack of existing credit, venture capital and private equity industries are increasingly becoming an alternative source of funding for companies. UIC Barcelona’s new Master’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Private Equity was set up as a unique programme in the market that brings together the two sectors. This Master's degree will provide you with the knowledge and experience you require to promote entrepreneurship, with a special emphasis placed on funding as the key issue.
