La UIC, Althaia, FHAG, HGC and Quirón Share Research Areas at LINK Seminar

On Thursday, 7 March 2013, the LINK research seminar was held at the UIC Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The aim of the event was to present information on the projects that are being carried out at the UIC and at the university and associated medical centres with which the faculty has agreements.

In addition to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, representatives from the Granollers Hospital Asil Foundation, the Althaia Hospital Network in Manresa, the Hospital General de Catalunya and Quirón Hospital in Barcelona were also present.

Approximately 15 people gave presentations at the seminar, all of which were well prepared and of excellent quality. Throughout the afternoon, each speaker spoke briefly about the essentials of their respective research areas and the projects that have arisen from them, in addition to the scientific papers of greatest general interest that have been published as a result.

"Research Areas in Psychology and Mental Health", "Action Mechanism of VEGF in Schizophrenia", "Assessment of Neurophysiological Mechanisms Involved in Control", "Department Research Areas” and "Hospital Efficiency Projects" were some of the papers read at the seminar, all of which helped participants share experiences and establish new ties for collaboration between the different centres and the university.

The opening and closing ceremonies were presided over by Dr. Albert Balaguer, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. The final lecture was given by Dr. Miguel Ángel Serra.

The main objective of the LINK© seminars organized regularly by the UIC is to enable the exchange of experiences between professionals with a view to improving the quality of their work. On this occasion, the seminar was held within a context of excellence in research and the willingness to work as part of a network and share experiences.
