Lecturer Christian Villavicencio presents three posters in the 15th World Congress of the European Association for Palliative Care

Dr Christian Villavicencio, a professor of Bioethics and Palliative Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at UIC Barcelona, presented three posters, of which the one titled "Reported wishes and values in patients with advanced chronic conditions (PACC) and patients with chronic condition (PCC). Conversations about end-of-life” was selected among the top three in the Older People category.

The award-winning poster featured the main data and findings from the study undertaken by Professor Villavicencio and his team. In efforts to identify the main wishes and values of patients with advanced chronic conditions, the team used the card game Go Wish to facilitate dialogue on the subject of end-of-life.

According to the findings, the main wishes of the patients who participated in the study were: not to be a burden on their family, not to be hooked up to a machine and not to experience pain.
