Lecturer from the Faculty of Dentistry Luis Jané receives the SEPES grant and the award for best clinical case of the year
Lecturer from the Faculty of Denistry at UIC Barcelona, Luis Jané Chimeno, has received the SEPES (Spanish Society of Stomatological and Aesthetic Prosthesis) grant worth €6,000, and the award for best clinical case of the year, presented by the journal Gaceta Dental.
The study for which Jané received the grant is entitled: “Comparación de materiales definitivos imprimidos y fresados en uno estudio in vivo en boca partida” (Comparison of definitive printed and milled materials in an in vivo split-mouth study). According to the lecturer, “the aim is to analyse the current state of these new materials, compare them with those produced using the milling technique, which are highly studied and whose characteristics and evolution over time are already known”.
Jané has also received the award for best clinical case: “Restauraciones monolíticas chairside. Opciones de tratamiento en el mundo digital” (Monolithic chairside restoration. Treatment options in the digital world), which, as Jané explains, “seeks a new treatment options which in the next few years could prove highly beneficial for our patients and clinics”. The study employed CAD-CAM technology that produces good results and increases the duration of current aesthetic reconstruction.
Luis Jané, pleased to have received the grant and the award, acknowledged that “it is a boost of motivation to continue innovating, letting our imagination run wild, thinking up and developing new treatment options that will benefit everyone at the end of the day”.
