Lecturer Pere Buhigas is appointed as the new director of RTVE Cataluña
He has been giving classes at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona since 2000.
The lecturer from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona Pere Buhigas has been appointed as the new director of the RTVE Cataluña production studios. Buhigas, who until recently directed and presented the scientific news and information programme Lab24 on RTVE’s 24-hour channel, will now substitute Carles Gonzáles who had been running the public corporation since 2016.
Buhigas (Barcelona, 1958) is a telecommunications engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a diploma in Advanced Studies in Audiovisual Communication and Advertising. His career began at Radio Juventud in Barcelona, following which he worked as the director for various national radio networks across Spain. In 1996, he began working at the Televisión Española production studios located in Sant Cugat del Vallès, where he has been involved in different programmes and held various editorial positions such as assistant manager and manager of news services for the public corporation in Catalonia.
Pere Buhigas has dovetailed his professional career with his commitment to teaching classes at the Faculty of Communication Sciences at UIC Barcelona since 2000. He lectures on the Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and on the Bachelor's Degree in Audiovisual Communication.
