Lecturer Ricardo Jiménez joins an international research group on computer assisted legal linguistics
The group, which explores the language of law, is made up of researchers from Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and Spain.
Ricardo M. Jiménez, lecturer at the Faculty of Humanities and Law, has joined the international research group Computer Assisted Legal Linguistics (CAL2), which studies legal linguistics using computer supported methods and large amounts of both legal and non-legal texts.
This research perspective focuses not only on micro-systems of norm construction, but also on macro structures of legal discourse (statistically calculated speech patterns of law in specific contexts), the semantics of legal dogmatics and power networks in legal societies.
The research group is made up of researchers from Germany, the United the Kingdom, Italy, Poland, Switzerland and Spain.
