Joaquín Lorente presented his most recent project at the UIC on Monday, 4 April 2013: the website «Piensa, es gratis», which is based on his book of the same name. He invited students in the Faculty of Communication Sciences to participate in the project.
The initiative, created by Lorente and directed by Marta Naval, a journalist at Radio 4 RNE, aims to be a website full of opinions, thoughts and trends with no other aim but to make people think. More than 700,000 people visit the site each day and it has nearly two million followers on Facebook.
As the creators explained, "Think. It's Free is a new website in Spanish created to help visitors think about news items, videos, art, games and anything that helps them get through the day".
Lorente presented the project as a useful tool for curious students who have something to say, because it offers them the perfect platform to communicate their ideas.
Lorente also used the presentation to inform the students that, as potential communicators, they have chosen a profession that requires an audience, which is something they will have to seek.
