Magdalena Bosch publishes a book on how desire can be a positive factor for human growth
With the title Desire and Human Flourishing. Perspectives from Positive Psychology, Moral Education and Virtue Ethics, the lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities presents key references, explications of central concepts and significant practical applications of desire to different fields of human thought and action.
Magdalena Bosch has published the book Desire and Human Flourishing.Perspectives from Positive Psychology, Moral Education and Virtue Ethics, in which she reflects upon the concept of desire as a positive factor in human growth and flourishing. It is an extensive and pioneering study of desire featuring key references, explications of central concepts and significant practical applications of desire to several fields of human thought and action.
The book explores desire from an analytical perspective and explains how all human decisions are preceded by some type of desire, a fact that positively conditions our growth. What’s more, the volume lays out how expressions of desire have changed over time, depending on how humans have been taught to desire.
The lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities has coordinated the publication, which includes chapters by different lecturers from UIC Barcelona and other international universities. The book is aimed at students and researchers in the field of positive psychology, positive education, moral philosophy and virtue ethics.
