Maria Mut participated in the Annual Conference on Decolonisation and the Imperial Legacy
The annual conference on decolonisation and the imperial legacy was held on 21 and 22 October at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies in the University of London. Dr Mut participated as a speaker and presented her work on the process of regionalisation in the Hispano-American area and the role of the Spanish state.
In her talk, the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law reflected on Spanish post-imperial policies and the role they have played in terms of the relationship with an independent Latin America.
Professors from various European universities also participated in the conference. The universities included the University of London, King's College London, Canterbury Christ Church University, Université Paris Diderot and the Universidade de Lisboa. Experts and diplomats from the Commonwealth Secretariat, from the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) and from the Canadian Embassy also participated in the conference.
Dr Mut is a Professor of International and European Law in the Faculty of Law, and also a Research Fellow at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies in the University of London. She has a European Doctorate in Legal, Social and Human Sciences, an undergraduate degree in Law and Political Science, a Master's degree in International Studies, and postgraduate degree in Community Law and in Public Law and Political Science.
