Master’s Degree students in Cultural Management acquire in-depth knowledge of the CaixaForum from the Director of its Culture Department

A group of UIC Barcelona students taking the Master’s Degree in Cultural Management had an exclusive chat with Ignasi Miró Borràs, director of the cultural department of the CaixaForum, where the meeting took place.

Miró Borràs explained to them the daily routine of the CaixaForum, concentrating especially on the management of the activities they organise. Miró highlighted that it is “the world’s third largest foundation in terms of size, but differentiated by concentrating its activity solely on the Spanish domestic sphere”. They have programmes focused on children, families and the elderly and offer a whole range of cultural activities including cinema, concerts, theatre, lectures and debates.

One of the leading programmes of La Caixa and its foundation is “Art for Social Improvement”. Through this project “people in vulnerable situations” –explained the speaker– “have the chance to be the protagonists in a creative process that culminates in an artistic production presented to the general public”.

The Master’s Degree in Cultural Management offered by UIC Barcelona represents an immersion into the world of cultural management, which is very much an emerging sector. Furthermore, the course boasts prestigious teaching staff and students will regularly attend lectures given by active professionals as well as having master classes with experts from all over the world.
