Mireia Baylina, lecturer for the Department of Medicine wins the 7th edition of the “Present your thesis in 4 minutes” competition
The lecturer of the Department of Medicine has won first prize in the “Present your thesis in 4 minutes” competition organised by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRi).
Mireia Baylina, also a PhD student from the WeCare Chair: End of Life Care, won the final held on 27 June at the Caixaforum in Tarragona with the thesis titled “Advance planning for dignified care.” In her project, Baylina has created a new visual tool based on twelve illustrated vignettes which help plan early decisions with multipathological and fragile older patients.
When she picked up the award, Baylina dedicated a few words of gratitude to Dr Iris Crespo and Dr Christian Villavicencio, directors of her doctoral thesis, as well as Dr Albert Balaguer, all of them also researchers of the WeCare Chair: End of Life Care.
The seventh edition of the contest “Present your thesis in 4 minutes” featured 12 finalists who had passed the heats and final qualifying stages of their universities. 154 contestants participated overall in the competition. All participants are doctoral students in at least their second year.
Mireia Baylina won the seventh edition of the internal competition “Present your thesis in 4 minutes”, held as part of the first UIC Barcelona Research Fest that took place last 9 May at the University.
