More than 200 managers and business leaders meet in Valencia for the Companies with a Human Face Symposium
On June 13, the Hotel Balneario Las Arenas in Valencia hosted the 7th Symposium of Companies with a Human Face, organised by the Chair in Management by Missions and Corporate Governance. This seventh edition, attended by over 200 managers and business leaders, dealt with the future of work and the impact of technology on companies.
There was a series of lectures and sessions throughout the day in which speakers explained critical aspects for the proper functioning of organisations in the coming years.
Carlos Rey, Director of the Chair, spoke of the necessity to align personal goals with the mission of the company. The professor, an expert in strategic and change management, pointed out that "The soul of the company consists of the soul of each of its employees".
For his part, Pablo Cardona, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Communication of the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) challenged the audience to "create valuable experiences" to protect, above all, the role played by people in organisations, in reference to workers and customers.
The last session was given by Nuria Chinchilla, Professor of Managing People in Organisations at the IESE Business School who used her presentation to focus on company missions and the importance of enabling people to be in charge of their own personal and professional development.
In addition to representatives of the companies associated with the Chair, there were other speakers including Ignacio Orúe, Head of HR and Communications at Orange España; Marisa Salanova Soria, Head of the WANT Research Team and Carmen Soler Pagán, Director of the Forum of Healthy Organisations.
A debate was held during the Symposium on humanism and technology attended by Ángel Alloza, CEO and Secretary General of Corporate Excellence and Ricardo Maturana, CEO of GNOSS, both of whom advocated putting technology to good use: "it makes us more human" and provides an opportunity to develop both people and organisations.
The Symposium also featured a round table entitled "Trends and best practices in healthy organisations" composed of Fernando Badenas, People and Training Manager at AIMPLAS, Juan Pablo Borregón, President of AEDIPE, Montse Moré, Managing Director of Full Audit and María López Ortiz, Manager of the Institutional Relationships and Legal Services department at Ausolán.
Also, part of the Symposium was devoted to presenting an award to the firm Vygon España in recognition of its five years as a member of the Chair in Management by Missions and Corporate Governance.
The Symposium was co-organised by the Healthy Organisation Forum and sponsored by Aitex and AIMPLAS.
