For the last five years, the Faculty of Dentistry has organized this conference with a view to promoting the constant knowledge refreshment of professionals trained at the UIC and now working in different areas of dentistry. This year's edition took place on the Sant Cugat Campus on Saturday, 6 October 2012. It provided the perfect opportunity to stay abreast of developments in the profession while reuniting with former classmates and teachers.
A total of
300 people attended the lectures given by 42 professors. In addition, six
undergraduate students, who had already presented papers at various conferences
and some of whom had been awarded prizes, had a further opportunity to present
them to those attending.
The
programme was sponsored by 18 companies with links to the field of dentistry
and was divided into different groups, depending on the area of dentistry
addressed in the various lectures: dentistry professionals, dental assistants and
hygienists, and dental technicians. Demonstrations and workshops were also held.
The
programme was attended by all members of the Faculty Board, as well as Dr. Miquel Cortada, the first dean of the
faculty and the man behind the initiative. Dr. Cortada encouraged those attending to make sure they
constantly refresh their knowledge and aim to improve as professionals every
day.
