Narcís Aguiló, University Ombusdman at UIC Barcelona, participated in a debate on the Venice Principles
On 21 January the Ombudsman for Catalonia organised an event on the Venice Principles understood as a tool to strengthen ombudsmen offices. The document on the protection and promotion of the ombudsman institution was approved in 2019 by the Committee of Ministers at the Council of Europe.
A meeting of all local and university ombudsmen in Catalonia was held in the headquarters of the Ombudsman for Catalonia in Barcelona. Narcís Aguiló took part in this meeting, representing UIC Barcelona.
Two main issues were discussed, the first looked at the importance of the Venice Principles at an international level, and the second covered the same document understood as a tool to promote local and university syndicates.
Prior to the debate, both issues were described and discussed by national and international officials at two round tables.
