A new book outlines the most relevant aspects of creating and managing social enterprises
The Faculty is taking part in writing the book Creació i gestió d’empreses socials. Teoria i casos practices resolts, which aims to help teachers and educators improve learning effectiveness and awareness whenproviding training on aspects related to the social economy.
The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences at UIC Barcelona, together with UPF Barcelona School of Management, EADA Business School and Tandem Social, is supporting the publication of the book Creació i gestió d’empreses socials. Teoria i casos practices resolts, (‘Creating and managing social enterprises. Theory and practical case studies’), which analyses the most relevant aspects to creating and managing companies in the social economy. The publication was presented as part of an online session organised by UIC Barcelona, in which some of the authors of the book’s eight chapters participated.
Coordinated by Marta Mas, dean of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of UIC Barcelona, and UPF Barcelona School of Management lecturer Ramon Bastida, the book presents a theoretical viewpoint of the most relevant aspects to do with creating and managing companies in the social economy, as well as offering a practical perspective by presenting case studies illustrating the reality of these companies’ experiences. The business model or specific internal structure of this type of business, their social impact, diversity management or possible marketing and communication strategies, are just some of subjects covered in the pages of this publication.
Creació i gestió d’empreses socials. Teoria i casos practices resolts is the result of a collaboration between lecturers and specialists from different universities, management schools and companies linked to Social Business City Barcelona with the aim of creating a reference work that helps teachers and educators to improve learning performance and awareness when it comes to teaching others about the social economy.
The publication of this book has been possible thanks to the Social Economy programme co-financed by the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Families of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, as part of the Aracoop project.
