A new year of Physiotherapy graduates

On 2 June at UIC Barcelona a new year of physiotherapists graduated during an event that took place in the Aula Magna in the university. The patron for this event was Dr Francesc Palau, Director of the Paediatric Institute for Rare Diseases in the San Joan de Déu Hospital in Barcelona.

After welcoming the attendees, the Vice- Dean for Physiotherapy and the Director of the Department of Physiotherapy, handed the floor to Dr Palau.

The patron focused his speech on rare diseases: what the causes are and their prevalence among the population. He also talked about the potential therapies and treatments which patients with these pathologies can receive, through the practice of physiotherapy.

On behalf of the students, Fiona Fissoune gave a speech in her native language, in representation of our French students. Students Siamak Adrian Deghat Souto and Sergi Pueyo Manjón then also gave a speech, it was very funny and this made the audience react by giving them a standing ovation.

Once the diplomas and graduation photos had been handed out, the Dean of the Faculty, Albert Balaguer, concluded the event by wishing the now former UIC Barcelona students the very best of luck.

The event ended with the "Gaudeamus Igitur” traditional song. Family members, friends and the teaching staff from the faculty all attended this event.
