On 24 and 25 November the following professors from UIC Barcelona, Maria Ángeles de Juan (Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Xavier Escribano (Faculty of Humanities) participated in the second Conference about a Research project entitled "Fenomenología del cuerpo y análisis del dolor “ [Phenomenology of the body and pain analysis], held in the Centre of Human and Social Sciences at CSIC in Madrid.
National and international researchers presented their contributions within the framework of a phenomenological and interdisciplinary approach to the topic of physical or corporeal pain.
The speeches from the UIC Barcelona representatives were given by professors Maria Ángeles de Juan and were entitled "La valoración del dolor en personas antiguas con demencia: Una reflexión fenomenológica” [The evaluation of pain in older people with dementia: A phenomenological reflection] and by professor Xavier Escribano: "El dolor del otro y su expresión dramática: fenomenología y performance” [Other’s pain and its dramatic expression: phenomenology and performance].
