Nursing lecturers deliver two presentations at the Human Patient Simulation Network Europe Conference

Seven lecturers from UIC Barcelona's Nursing Department attended the Human Patient Simulation Network (HSPN) Europe 2015 Conference, held between 17 and 19 September at the Francisco de Vitoria University of Madrid. Lecturers Encarna Rodríguez and Anna Aliberch delivered two presentations entitled "Cómo Desarrollar la Competencia de Análisis y Síntesis de los Estudiantes de Grado de Enfermería" (How to Develop Nursing Students' Capacity to Analyse and Summarise) and "Development of a Briefing Programme in order to Acquire Skills in Critical Patient Care Intended for Third-Year Nursing Students", respectively. In addition to the speakers, other congress attendees included Lecturers Silvia Pilar, Cristina Alfonso, Magda Quijada, Marian Cerezuela and Laura Masnou.

The congress welcomed over 300 people and was divided into a number of different seminars, workshops and keynote speeches aimed at discussing and sharing best practices in the field of human patient simulation education. Founded in 1997, the Human Patient Simulation Network (HPSN) has grown from a small community of nursing and health science educators into a robust and global network of medical and nursing faculty, clinicians and nurses, students and technical experts who gather throughout the year to interact, share knowledge and explore the latest innovations in simulation-based medical education (SBME). CAE Healthcare has successfully sponsored over 150 HPSN conferences in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
