Oviedo hosts the 5th Symposium for “Companies with a Human Side”

The 5th Symposium for “Companies with a Human Side”, organised each year by the Chair for Management by Missions and Corporate Government of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, took place in Oviedo on 28 April.

Industrial Química del Nalón was the Chair company responsible for organising this edition of the symposium. Over 150 entrepreneurs, senior managers, academics and researchers came together to discuss and share experiences on missions and business leadership.

The event featured two series of conferences: “Personal mission and leadership” and “Companies that promote their employees’ personal missions”. It also included a round table, which drew on the experience of the companies linked to the Chair and which apply the management by missions model on a daily basis, as well as a presentation entitled “Missions-centred leadership”, by Pablo Cardona, a lecturer from the Department of Human Resources at the China Europe International Business School.

In addition to representatives from the companies linked to the Chair, other speakers included Pablo Junceda, general director of Sabadell-Herrero; Katherine Semler, lecturer and director of Leadership Programmes at Telefónica Corporate University; Joaquim Borrás, president of ISS World; and Javier Soto, director general of MAPFRE North-West.

During the event commemorative plaques were also awarded to the companies that have been Chair members for five years: AITEX, Jiménez Maña, Industrial Química del Nalón and Semillas Fitó.

The symposium was sponsored by Banco Sabadell, Mapfre, Industrial Química del Nalón and the Asturias Business Forum.
