Pedro Alonso Analyses Today's Major Health Challenges at the UIC
Pedro Alonso, the Director of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB), spoke at the UIC's Sant Cugat campus on Thursday, 14 February 2013. He analysed major global health challenges that involve the need to increase research and training.
Professor Pedro Alonso, the Director of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB), gave a lecture for students and teachers in the UIC Faculty of Medicine in which he analysed today's major health challenges.
Alonso is the Head of Tropical Medicine and International Health at Hospital Clínic and a specialist in preventive medicine, specifically in priority health problems in regions with limited resources, especially Africa. He is currently the Director of the Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB), which was founded in 2006 by first-rate academic and research institutions that focus on biomedicine, such as Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, the Universitat de Barcelona and the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS), with the support of the Catalan government.
