Physiotherapy Professors Present Research on Teaching Physiotherapy

Montserrat Girabent, Dr. Xavier Gironés, Pedro Ramón Rodríguez, Dr. Caritat Bagur and Pol Serra, professors in the UIC Biostatistics area and the Department of Physiotherapy, presented the results of their research and discussed their teaching experience at the tenth International Conference on the Research and Higher Education Quality Assessment, which was held in Granada from Tuesday to Friday, 25-28 June 2013.

Analysis of post-graduate teaching adapted to the criteria set by the European Higher Education Area, the use of free information and communication technology in final projects, the need for research training among Catalan physiotherapists and the assessment of teaching quality in undergraduate physiotherapy clinical internships were some of the issues discussed.

The Biostatistics area of the Basic Sciences Department also presented an analysis of medical students’ learning styles using the LSI-Canfield test. Juan Carlos Martín, Leila Luján and Montserrat Girabent contributed to the paper.

The tenth International Conference on the Research and Higher Education Quality Assessment, organized by the Spanish Association of Behaviour Psychology, brought university professors together to discuss issues such as the promotion of research, quality and European convergence in universities, the new university model and tools for assessing the quality of scientific research.
