Professor Enric Vidal Appointed Dean of Faculty of Education

Enric Vidal will take over from Dr. Albert Arbós, who was the first Dean of the Faculty of Education following its separation from the Faculty of Humanities five years ago. Professor Jaume Camps will take up the position of Vice Dean, which until now has been filled by Mireia Tintoré.

The new Dean expressed his approval of Arbós's management and explained that he perceives a Faculty of Education that “has been consolidated as a project and team, is dynamic and creative, and has a range of teacher-training courses that has identified the perfect balance and relationship between theory and practice”.

Vidal, who has a degree in English language and literature from the Universitat de Barcelona and a doctoral degree from the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, wants to use his appointment to help “make the teaching profession more prestigious through comprehensive training for teachers who are prepared to deploy talent, initiative and creativity in different educational contexts and in a society of change”.

In this regard, the new Dean believes that the UIC Faculty of Education offers huge opportunities thanks to the high-quality personalized attention it gives students. He said, “the dialogue between the student and teacher is constant and this helps promote intense, rigorous learning”.
