Professor Escribano presents his latest book in Leuven

Xavier Escribano, a contracted lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities, was recently at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium), where he had the opportunity to present his latest book of tormented poetry, that was recently published.  The following day, Escribano gave a talk on the phenomenology of pain.

The book presentation, which took place at Hollands College at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, consisted of a poetry reading, read by professor Escribano himself, accompanied by music played by Jo Coenen on the piano and Angelika Zolcsák, on the cello. Fourteen poems were read aloud in Spanish, and there was interpretation into Flemish and English for members of the public who attended.  Music was also played between each poem.

The next day, Xavier Escribano gave a talk entitled “Pain on the stage. The phenomenology of the pain of others and its theatrical representation”, at Hollands College. Professors from the Institute of Philosophy Roland Breeur, Nidesh Lawtoo, Stéphane Symons and Willem Willens led a discussion after the talk and then the floor was opened up to audience members.
