Professor Lucía Barallat Receives SEPA-Inibsa Osteology Scholarship

In July 2014, Inibsa Dental and the Spanish Society of Periodontics and Osseointegration (SEPA) presented one of two SEPA-Inibsa Osteology scholarships to Lucía Barallat as part of the second edition of this initiative. Barallat, a professor in the UIC Department of Dentistry, received the scholarship for her presentation of the protocol «Preservation of the alveolar ridge using Bio-Oss® and a collagen membrane compared with Bio-Oss Collagen® and a collagen membrane in areas for implant insertion. A histological study in humans».

The €4,000 scholarship includes the registration fee for a course at the Osteology Research Academy, plus travel and accommodation expenses. The Academy is run by the Osteology Foundation and the course is held in September in Lucerne, Switzerland. The award decision was taken by a committee made up of the Secretary of the Board of Directors of SEPA, a patron and former chair of SEPA, a university professor appointed by SEPA and a representative from Inibsa Dental.

Domènec Huguet, the Director General of Inibsa Dental, said that this second edition would help the company “reinforce its commitment to training professionals in the field of dentistry in Spain and promote research in the field of bone regeneration”.
