Professor M. Teresa Fuertes Presents Advances in Service-Learning in Buenos Aires

Dr. M. Teresa Fuertes, a lecturer at the UIC Barcelona Faculty of Education, travelled to Buenos Aires to participate in the Service-Learning Research Symposium held at the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Dr. Fuertes presented the results of a research study on the process of skill systemization and assessment in service-learning projects.

During the symposium, which formed part of the 18th International Service-Learning Conference, the most recent advances in the field of service-learning were presented, including reflections on topics such as the systemization, assessment and measurement of the impact and study of cases of institutional programmes, and specific service-learning practices being used in universities.

Another speaker at the symposium was Dr. Andrew Furco, the Associate Vice President of Community Engagement at the University of Minnesota and the representative of the International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE), an association Dr. Fuertes is also a member of.
