Professor Mariona Guerrero has received a grant from the European Palliative Care Academy

Professor Mariona Guerrero, from the Department of Nursing at UIC Barcelona, was one of the twenty European nurses selected by the Palliative Care Academy in order to do some training offered to researchers in the field of palliative care.  Her project, selected out of proposals sent from all over the European Union, has led her to become part of a group of researchers from Poland, Italy, France and Albania. This group will train and learn together over a period of two years via on-site visits to the University Hospital of Vologne (Germany), the Nicolaus Copernicus University of Torun (Poland), the Casa Sperantei Hospice of Varsovia (Romania) and King's College in London.

This training will have an impact on aspects such as project management, teamwork, personal development and research.  Guerrero believes that it is a good opportunity to create European workgroups in the field of palliative care.  "The foundation which awards this prize is committed to improving palliative care at a European level, and will allow me to implement my project at both a national and an international level" said Guerrero.
