Professor Pedro Casariego participated in the eighth edition of ICASS.

Pedro Casariego, Professor of Structures in the School of Architecture, was a speaker at ICASS2015 (International Conference on Advances in Steel Structures) which was held in Lisbon (Portugal) on 21, 22, 23 and 24 of July this year.  This Professor from the School of Architecture participated in the section on cold-formed steel with a talk entitled “Analytical study on trapezoidal steel sheeting with transverse corrugations by the Yield Line Theory”.

The “International Conference Series on Advances in Steel Structures” began in 1996 under the auspices of the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong, and three years later the Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction also became involved.

The edition which professor Casariego participated in is the first one which has been held outside of Asia. The aim of the conference is to provide a forum for debate and dissemination by researchers and designers, of the most recent advances in the analysis, behaviour, design and construction of steel, aluminium and structures consisting of steel and concrete.

Once again this year the ICASS'2015 conference was held in conjunction with the IJSSD Symposium on Progress in Structural Stability and Dynamics (IJSSD 2015), and it focused on theoretical, analytical, experimental and design-related aspects in terms of structural and dynamic stability.
